Agent Mulder is said to be one of the FBI's greatest detectives, but many, if not all, of his superiors believe that it his talent is "wasted" on the X-Files. With a near photographic memory and his skill as a psychologist he has been able to profiles many serial killers.

He became fascinated with extraterrestial life when his sister disappeared. He claims that she was abducted by aliens. During his training at the Academy he earned the nickname "Spooky". Due to his interest in things unexplained, such as UFO, other life, etc. he began working on the X-Files.

Agent Scully was assigned to the X-Files (more info see her profile). Since then they have become almost inseperable, if only in a professional and intellectual way.
